H and H Blend display ad — A Cup of Good Coffee, San Antonio Express-News, 28 May 1916, rebus Her Name Is Minnie, 35c/lb, Caffarelli Building

A rule-bordered display ad on newsprint in the 28 May 1916 (Sunday) San Antonio Express-News (page 14): a rebus panel at the left shows the figure 18, a woman’s head, an apple, the letters HIS, and the line “HER NAME IS MINNIE” under early H. & H. Blend art; the main column sets A CUP OF GOOD COFFEE in heavy serif type, then 35¢/lb vacuum-packed can copy, a Movie Pennant in each can, and a fifty-word contest for ten one-pound wins. The sign-off is Hoffmann–Hayman at the Caffarelli Building, 307 North Medina Street—a concrete North Medina address for the firm before the later 331 Burnett Street and factory-era chapter.
