![H and H Master Chef Coffee REGULAR GRIND tin used as Wolff & Marx free-premium artwork, San Antonio Express-News, 9 Nov 1961]({{ “/assets/images/gallery/crops/newspaper/1961-11-09-san-antonio-express-news-master-chef-tin.jpg” | relative_url }})

Tight crop on the H AND H Master Chef Coffee REGULAR GRIND tin used as the give-away artwork in a Wolff & Marx West Bend coffee-maker ad — the chef-figure shield, the swash “Master Chef” wordmark, and the COFFEE scroll device are all clearly visible. Documenting Master Chef tin art appearing inside a third-party department-store ad confirms the brand mark was strong enough to act as a recognised retail premium hook in pre-Christmas 1961, the late Hoffmann-Hayman era just before the Continental Food Products transition.
