Another large Crystalvac glass jar was won on eBay and comes from Colleyville, Texas. It is in good condition with an embossed metal lid. The bottom has Crystalvac, Container, Reg U.S. Pat Off, and a “7”.

What makes this one interesting is its wooden handle. The wire has a different bend than our others to accommodate the wooden piece, so we wonder if it is original.

Update (2026-05-21): the wooden grip is the original H&H form. The 23 December 1932 San Antonio Light “SPECIAL OFFER — 3-lb. Handy Glass Jar” introductory ad ([post]({% post_url 1932-12-23-san-antonio-light-h-and-h-crystalvac-special-offer-handy-glass-jar %})) depicts a bail-handled Crystalvac jar from the brand’s first holiday push — within a month of the [29 Nov 1932 trademark registration]({% post_url 1932-11-29-official-gazette-crystalvac-h-and-h-blend-coffee-trademark %}). The collection’s [aqua Crystalvac jar]({% post_url 2019-08-17-h-and-h-crystalvac-jar-aqua %}) preserves the same wire-bail-with-turned-wood-grip construction intact — confirming this Colleyville jar’s handle is the period design rather than a later add-on.
