Three Rivers, Texas

South Texas town in Live Oak County, home of the Three Rivers Glass Company (incorporated 1922; dissolved 1937). For H&H research, Three Rivers is the field-attribution anchor for the Crystalvac jar line and the regional embossed-bottle threads documented in Michael David Smith’s Texas Glass (1989).

2014 field visit (14 June 2014)

Curator day-trip from San Antonio to the plant town and its antique trade:

• The Goodie Box (Hwy 72 East) — in-person purchase of additional TEXAS GLASS copies (HH-LIB-2014-0002 / HH-BOOK-2014-0007) and a lot of regional Three Rivers–marked embossed bottles (HH-BOTTLE-2014-0007); unitemized $297.00 receipt (raw-archives/records/receipts/2014/2014-06-14 The Goodie Box - Three Rivers Bottles.pdf). Dealer on duty: Denise Salvagno.
• No H&H stock on the floor that day, but Smith’s monograph was still stocked locally — evidence the 1989 edition had not been commercially reprinted.
• Denise Salvagno phoned Debbie Keneson (Comfort Antique Mall), who held a large clear three-pound Crystalvac jar for pickup the next day (HH-PACKAGING-2014-0004).

Open questions

• Goodie Box bottle lot inventory — exact count, embossing variants, and current storage locations for HH-BOTTLE-2014-0007 remain unitemized pending physical re-inventory.
• Plant-site archaeology — whether any extant structures or marked foundations from the 1922–1937 glassworks are publicly accessible for documentation.
