Heavily illustrated booster-press style typical of WWI-era city promotion; page 3 carries a “Place your photograph in this space” oval, indicating the volume was personalized for individual subscribers. Confirmed (2026-07-21) — full-text search of the Internet Archive PDF. Point 1 of the prior hypothesis below is verified: the volume’s alphabetical business-directory section (back matter, two-column citizen/business listing) reads:

“Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co., 307 N. Medina St., Wholesale Coffee.” (OCR renders “Wholesale” as “Whnlesale”)

This is an independent 1918 primary-source attestation of the 307 North Medina Street plant address, dated by the volume’s own colophon (copyright applied March 1918; LoC deposit stamp “MAY -1 1918”) — it fills the documentary gap between the 19 October 1917 Liberty Loan attestation and the 10 December 1922 “Little Journeys” feature. No photograph of H&H signage or buildings was found (point 3 below) and no further Hoffmann/Hayman/H-and-H mentions turned up elsewhere in the text (checked via full-text search of a pdftotext -layout extraction for “hoffmann,” “hayman,” “h and h,” “h & h,” “601 delaware,” and “menger” — the only other hits are unrelated Menger Hotel references). Propagated to 307 North Medina Street.

Superseded framing (kept for context): the volume was originally flagged as potentially high-relevance pending a direct read, on the theory that a 1918 booster-press directory would very likely list the chartered Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co. That theory is now confirmed rather than hypothetical.

Resolved open question: the previous c.1915 curator estimate has been corrected to 1918 via the Internet Archive PDF’s page-2 colophon (copyright applied March 1918 by E. A. Luck; LoC deposit stamp “MAY -1 1918”).
